WIS 23 (County Shop Road to Minerva Street), City of Darlington - Lafayette County

Project overview

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is in the process of developing plans for  a proposed project on WIS 23 in Lafayette County. The projects begin near the intersection of County Shop Road/WIS 81 in the City of Darlington and  continues north approximately 1.5 miles to the intersection of Minerva Street in the City of Darlington.
The purpose of the  project is to resurface and reconstruct WIS 23 south of the Pecatonica River,  improve intersections at Center Hill Road, Union Grove Lane and the Huntington Court, replace the bridge deck over the Pecatonica River, resurface and replace the pavement on WIS 23 north of the Pecatonica River, improve intersections at Harriet Street and Washington Street, and provide a box culvert extension near the Minerva Street intersection. Real estate acquisitions are needed on the project.
Additional improvements to these projects include retaining wall additions south of the river, upgrading curb ramps to meet specifications for American Disabilities Act (ADA), water and sanitary utility upgrades, storm sewer upgrades, lighting upgrades, beam guard upgrades, and access modifications.
