One award will be given in each of the following categories:
- Best rural design - WisDOT
- Best rural design - consultant or municipality
- Best urban design - WisDOT
- Best urban design - consultant or municipality
- Best structure design - WisDOT
- Best structure design - consultant or municipality
- Best local program project
