Public input sought on WIS 13 project in Price County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on proposed improvements to WIS 13 between the North Fork Flambeau River bridge to 5th Street North in the city of Park Falls, Price County. Construction is currently scheduled for 2025.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Resurfacing 2.2 miles of WIS 13
  • Upgrading curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
  • Replacing deteriorated curb and gutter
  • Replacing pavement markings
  • Evaluating street lighting through the corridor
  • Assessing extension of sidewalk on the east side of WIS 13 in front of Super One Foods to 12th Street South​​
Traffic Impacts

During construction, WIS 13 will remain open using staged traffic lane shifts and single lane closures with flaggers. Low traffic side roads may be temporarily closed. Access will be maintained for local, business and emergency services. Temporary driveway closures may be necessary during construction. 

Real Estate

Minor real estate impacts in the form of temporary easements, permanent easements or fee may be required for construction of sidewalk and curb ramp improvements. More information and an exhibit are available on the project website.

How to provide input:

  • The public is invited to review the project website and provide input through Thursday, April 7, 2022 using the online comment form.
  • Residents, property owners, and businesses in the area have been mailed a handout with a comment form that can be sent back to WisDOT.
