Second phase of WIS 11/US 12 project in Walworth County to begin in early June

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is notifying motorists of upcoming resurfacing and bridge reconstruction work along US 12 in Walworth County. Work is scheduled to begin the week of June 3 between WIS 20 and the WIS 67/US 12 split.

Improvements include:

  • Resurfacing US 12 from WIS 20 to the WIS 67/US 12 split.
  • US 12 bridge reconstruction over Sugar Creek
  • Westbound US 12 to northbound WIS 67 ramp terminal will be reconstructed
  • New traffic signals at US 12 and County ES intersection

Traffic Impacts:

  • US 12 will be closed to through traffic between WIS 20 and the WIS 67/US 12 split for the duration of the project.
    • Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained.
  • US 12 will be fully closed between County A and County ES during bridge reconstruction.
  • Posted detour will utilize I-43 and WIS 20.

This project is scheduled for completion in fall 2024. Work on the WIS 11 portion of the project is scheduled for completion in late summer 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
