Governor Evers approves WIS 181 bridge project in Milwaukee County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has approved a $3.57 million bridge rehabilitation project along WIS 181 (N. 76th Street), between W. Dean Road and W. Tower Road in the city of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. Zenith Tech is the prime contractor for the project. Construction is scheduled to begin June 10.

Improvements include:

  • Bridge deck demolition and replacement
  • Curb and gutter improvements
  • New pavement marking and signing

Traffic Impacts:

Traffic will be maintained in both directions on WIS 181 (N. 76th Street) during construction. Work will be completed in multiple stages.

Stage 1: Inside lanes in both directions will be closed to construct temporary crossovers. Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction during this work.
Stage 2: Traffic will be moved onto the northbound bridge while the southbound bridge is under construction.​
Stage 3: Traffic will be moved onto the southbound bridge while the northbound bridge is under construction.

Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
