WisDOT seeking public input on WIS 35 resurfacing project

​​Proposed work in Burnett County includes rehabilitating Yellow River Bridge, replacing culverts, upgrading​​​ guardrail and replacing select storm sewer facilities in Webster

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to provide information on a proposed improvement project on WIS 35 from County K South in the town of Meenon to the Yellow River Bridge just north of the village of Webster, all in Burnett County.

  • When: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26
    • A presentation is planned for 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Webster Community Center, 7421 Main St. W.

The existing pavement on WIS 35 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, WisDOT is proposing:

  • Milling the existing asphalt pavement from County K South to the Yellow River Bridge and placing new asphalt pavement.
  • Making spot concrete repairs to the piers and soffit on the Yellow River Bridge just north of Webster.
  • Replacing culverts.
  • Upgrading guardrail to current standards.
  • Placing new pavement markings.
  • Cleaning ditches.
  • Replacing select storm sewer facilities and upgrading existing sidewalk curb ramps to meet current Americans With Disabilities Act standards, all in the village.

During construction, motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging or temporary signals.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2030, but work could be advanced to 2027 if funding becomes available.​​
