Public Notice
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public comment regarding the WIS 21 pavement replacement project and its impacts to the White River Fishery Area in Waushara County.
The project is located on WIS 21 between the village of Coloma and city of Wautoma and will be impacting the White River Fishery Area near Cottonville Ct. Construction is scheduled for 2023.
The existing culvert pipe on Lunch Creek, a Class I trout stream, will be replaced as a box culvert to improve aquatic organism passage. The installation and maintenance of the box culvert requires acquisition of 0.02 acres of the White River Fishery Area along WIS 21 to be converted to permanent highway right-of-way. In addition, 0.29 acres of the fishery area will temporarily be used during construction to bypass the stream and grade along the roadway.
Maps showing the location of the project, White River Fishery Area, and the impacts are available at the links below. Interested parties are invited to review the information and provide any feedback and concerns regarding the project by Friday, October 23, 2020.
