Location
WIS 22, Zingler Avenue to Green Bay Street, and WIS 47/55, Green Bay Street to the Shawano Creek Bridge in the city of Shawano
Project Overview
The pavement on these segments of highway is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the city, is proposing:
- Removing the existing pavement and placing new asphalt pavement
- Replacing traffic signals at Division and Green Bay streets and upgrading signals at Lieg Avenue
- Repairing concrete curb and gutter
- Replacing sidewalk curb ramps
Traffic Impacts
During construction, the following traffic impacts are proposed on:
- WIS 22: A full closure of the roadway between Zingler Avenue and Green Bay Street.
- Traffic will be detoured off at WIS 29, and motorists will follow WIS 29 east to WIS 47/55 and take WIS 47/55 north to WIS 22.
- WIS 47/55: This portion of the project is planned to be built in halves maintaining traffic during construction.
- One lane in each direction will be maintained on one half of the roadway from Green Bay Street to 5th Street.
- The segment from 5th Street to Shawano Creek will be reduced to a single lane utilizing temporary traffic signals to maintain traffic.
Real Estate
Permanent and temporary real estate impacts will be required at intersection corners for curb ramp construction.
