Project Overview
The purpose of this project is to improve a section of WIS 55 from WIS 32 to Scott Lake Road in Forest County. Proposed improvements include a mill and overlay (3.5 inches) of asphalt pavement, culvert replacement, new pavement markings, widening of paved shoulder through Argonne and a thermoplastic snowmobile crossing.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 55 will remain open for through traffic throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane of travel with flagging operations during daylight hours. Access to adjacent properties and businesses will be maintained, but may have brief, temporary interruptions in access at driveways. The contractor will be required to notify property owners prior to construction.

There is no real estate acquisition anticipated for this project.

- Local Officials Meeting: April 2025
- Public Involvement Meeting: May 2025
- Final Plans: May 2031, could be as early as May 2028
- Construction scheduled for 2032, could be as early as 2029 if funds become available
