Location
County X bridge over WIS 29 in the Chippewa County village of Boyd.
Overview
Built in 1963, the bridge is in need of rehabilitation. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Replace the bridge deck
- Paint girders and bearings
- Make concrete surface repairs to bridge columns and then fiber wrap them
- Add concrete approach slabs on either side of the structure
- Reconstruct the pavement approaching the bridge
- Replace guardrail and pavement markings.

Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2028.
Traffic Impacts
During construction:
- County X will be closed, with traffic detoured via County D and County V.
- WIS 29 will remain open to traffic, but single-lane closures during non-peak travels times will be necessary to complete the work.
- Nightly closures of the on- and off-ramps at the County X/WIS 29 interchange might be required.
