WIS 35 (County K South to Yellow River Bridge), town of Meenon - Burnett County

Location

WIS 35 from County K South north to just north of the Yellow River Bridge in the Burnett County town of Meenon.

Overview

The existing pavement on WIS 35 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the WisDOT project will:

• Remove a portion of the existing pavement and place 3 inches of new asphalt pavement.
• Upgrade guardrail at two locations.
• Replace various culverts.
• Replace select storm sewer facilities and reconstruct sidewalk curb ramps in the village of Webster.
• Make concrete surface repairs to the piers and soffit of the Yellow River Bridge and replace the railing with concrete parapet.

Real Estate

Permanent right of way and temporary limited easements will be necessary for the reconstruction of curb ramps and sidewalk and replacement of culverts. View information about landowners' rights in English, Hmong or Spanish.

• WisDOT will allow installation of special and additional business signing within the highway right-of-way during construction; however, the agency can't pay for, install, maintain or remove the private business/property owner signs.

Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2030.

• If funding becomes available, work could be advanced to 2027.

Traffic Impacts

During construction, WIS 35 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter:

• Single-lane closures controlled by flagging for road work.
• Single-lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals at the Yellow River Bridge.

In Webster, curb ramp work will result in temporary sidewalk crossings.
