WIS 95 (450 feet east of WIS 93 to US 53), towns of Arcadia to town of Preston - Trempealeau County

Location

The proposed improvement project is on WIS 95 from about 450 feet east of WIS 93 to US 53 in the Trempealeau County towns of Arcadia and Preston.

Overview

The pavement on this segment of WIS 95 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:

  • Remove 2 inches of the existing pavement and place 2 inches of new asphalt pavement
  • Install edgeline rumble strips in the rural section of the project (east of the Turton Creek Bridge to US 53)
  • Clean, line, repair, replace or reset culverts
  • Clean ditches
  • Replace sections of deteriorated curb and gutter
  • Repair, clean or adjust existing storm drains
  • Repair and adjust spot sections of guardrail
  • Repair deteriorated concrete on the deck and parapet walls of the Lakes Coulee Creek Bridge, place a concrete overlay on the deck, replace concrete approach slabs and repair riprap beneath the structure

Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2031.

  • Construction could be advanced to 2028 if funding becomes available.

Traffic Impacts

During construction, WIS 95 will be open to traffic, but motorists will encounter:

  • Lane closures controlled by flagging operations during pavement rehabilitation and guardrail and inlet repairs
  • Temporary lane shifts controlled by flagging operations during culvert replacements
  • A single lane of traffic controlled by temporary signals during Lakes Coulee Creek Bridge work
