Project Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing a pavement replacement project along segments of WIS 181 (84th Street) and WIS 59 (Greenfield Avenue/National Avenue) in Milwaukee County.
- Project limits on WIS 181 are between Greenfield Avenue and Adler Street.
- Project limits on WIS 59 are between 84th Street and 56th Street.
Proposed Improvements
- Replace roadway pavement and storm sewer within project limits.
- Replace existing traffic signals.
- Replace existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards.
- Improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations along corridors.
Schedule
This project will be completed over two construction seasons. The western segment (green on the map) is tentatively scheduled for 2029. The eastern segment (purple on the map) is tentatively scheduled for 2030.
Public Involvement
WisDOT hosted an in-person public involvement meeting for this project on February 25, 2025, at West Allis City Hall.
