Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to make various improvements to three (3) bridges over I-41/I-894, between the Hale Interchange and Lincoln Avenue in Milwaukee County.
Proposed Improvement
This project will make improvements to three bridges over I-41/I-894.
- Lincoln Avenue bridge over I-41: Concrete deck overlay with curb ramp improvements. The number of driving lanes and sidewalks will remain the same as existing.
- Howard Avenue bridge over I-41: Replace existing structure with a new structure. The new bridge will maintain the same number of lanes. The new bridge will also include a sidewalk that will be handicapped accessible.
- Dakota Street pedestrian bridge over I-41: Bridge will receive a methacrylate sealer and the structure will remain the same as existing.
Additional work includes drainage improvements near S. 100th Street.
Traffic Impacts
Detours will be utilized for this project. Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained. Additional traffic impacts are still being determined.
Schedule
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
