Overview:
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to resurface approximately 3.5 miles of US 45, from 7th Avenue to WIS 20, in Racine County.
Proposed Improvements:
- Resurface US 45 within project limits (7th Avenue to WIS 20)
- Replace curb ramps to meet current ADA standards
- Drainage structure repairs and cleaning
- New pavement marking and signing
Proposed Traffic Impacts:
- US 45 will remain open during construction under flagging operations
- Short-term, full closure of the US 45/County C roundabout (approx. 4 days)
- Detour route will be provided during roundabout closure via WIS 11, I-94, and WIS 20
Schedule:
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
