US 14 (Fitchburg North limits to Fitchburg South limits), Fitchburg - Dane County
Project overview
Project work includes resurfacing of 6.4 miles of US 14 to repair pavement distresses. Interchange ramps and side roads will also be resurfaced. The project will also upgrade the curb ramps at County MM to meet ADA standards, upgrade guardrail, rehabilitate drainage pipes/culverts, and perform minor structure repairs.
Schedule

- February 2022 - Public Involvement Meeting
- 2029 - Construction anticipated with the possibility of advancement to as early as 2025 if funding is available
Traffic impacts/detours
- US 14 will be constructed with short term single lane closures. When lanes are closed on US 14 the posted speed limit would be reduced to 55 mph.
- McCoy Road and County MM will be rehabilitated with daily/nightly closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. when work is occurring.
- McCoy Road, Lucy Road, and County MM interchange ramps will have daily/nightly closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. when work is occurring.
- Netherwood Street overpass will be closed for structure work without a signed detour. The closure will last approximately 30 calendar days.
- Haight Farm Road overpass will be closed for structure work without a signed detour. The closure will last approximately 40 calendar days.
- The Capital City Trail along McCoy Road will remain open during construction.
