WIS 162 (Village Park Driveway to Depot Street), Stoddard to Chaseburg - Vernon County
Project overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is developing a resurfacing project for approximately 7 miles of WIS 162 in the Village of Stoddard, Town of Bergen, Town of Hamburg, and Village of Chaseburg in Vernon County. The project will extend the life of the existing structures and pavement surface.
The improvements include:
WIS 162 (Division Street), Village Park Driveway to Old River Road, Village of Stoddard
- Municipal sanitary sewer and water utility work
- Constructing a new roadway section including:
- Storm sewer
- Curb and gutter
- Sidewalk
WIS 162, Old River Road to Depot Street
- Remove the top 3.5-inches of asphalt and replace it with 3.5-inches of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA)
- Replace the box culvert approximately 1.3 miles east of the Village of Stoddard
- Repair three additional structures
- Repair or replace guardrail as needed
- Replace culvert pipes as needed

- July 26, 2022 - Public Involvement Meeting
- 2027 - Construction anticipated
Traffic impacts/detours
WIS 162 will be closed and detoured during the work in the Village of Stoddard and the replacement of the box culvert 1.3 miles east of the Village of Stoddard. Traffic will be detoured using US 14/61 and WIS 35.
The remaining work will be completed under lane closures and flagging operations.
