Public meeting for US 18 in Crawford County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss intersection improvements at US 18 (Main Street intersections) in Prairie du Chien, Crawford County.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Prairie du Chien City Hall, 214 E. Blackhawk Avenue, Prairie du Chien. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

The purpose of this project is to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians by installing single-lane roundabouts on US 18 (Main Street) at the Wisconsin Street and Iowa Street intersections. Additionally, lighting, curb ramps and storm sewer improvements will be made. Construction is anticipated in 2026.
