Governor Evers approves WIS 19 improvements, Dane County

Release date: February 12, 2024

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $14.5 million contract to improve WIS 19 between WIS 78 in Mazomanie and US 12 in Springfield Corners, Dane County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin Monday, February 12 on clearing operations.

Integrity Grading and Excavating is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve corridor safety, address drainage concerns, widen shoulders, and improve pavement condition. Some improvements on this project include widened shoulders, replacement of two bridge structures, and a new pedestrian crossing at Indian Lake Park.

During construction, WIS 19 will remain open during clearing operations. In mid-March WIS 19 will be closed and detoured utilizing WIS 78 and US 12.

Project completion is scheduled for fall 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
