Public meeting for WIS 33 in Columbia County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss the resurfacing project on WIS 33 from the Wisconsin River to WIS 16 in the City of Portage, Columbia County.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Bidwell Room, Portage Public Library, 253 W Edgewater Street, Portage. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

The WIS 33 improvements are approximately 0.67 miles in length and extend from the Wisconsin River to WIS 16. Project work will consist of removing and replacing the pavement, adding a left turn on eastbound WIS 33 at Pierce Street, and updating curb ramps. Construction is scheduled for 2028.
