Public meeting for I-39 in Dane County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss improvements on I-39 from Lien Road to US 51 in Madison, Dane County.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Southwest Region Office (Dane, Rock, and Columbia conference rooms), 2101 Wright Street, Madison. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

The purpose of this project to maintain connectivity along I-39 by addressing the existing roadway pavement condition. WisDOT is proposing to resurface 5.5 miles of I-39 as well as replace beam guard, pavement markings, and ramp improvements along the project corridor. Construction is scheduled for 2026 and will be constructed using temporary nighttime lane closures.
