Governor Evers approves WIS 19 intersection improvements, Sun Prairie

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $2.4 million contract to improve three intersections along WIS 19 at US 151, Thompson Street, and Davidson Drive in Sun Prairie, Dane County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin March 4.

Zignego is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to repair the pavement and improve ADA ramps at the Thompson Street and Davidson Drive intersections. Improvements at the WIS 19 and US 151 interchange include pavement repair, lengthened left turn lanes along WIS 19, and added overhead signals.

During construction, WIS 19 will remain open under lane closures. Overnight ramp closes w​ill take place at the US 151 interchange.

Project completion is scheduled for fall 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
