Governor Evers approves WIS 33 improvements, Columbia County

Release date: March 1, 2024

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $6.2 million contract to improve WIS 33 between Morris Drive and WIS 73 north of Randolph, Columbia County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin March 5, 2024.

Rock Road Companies, Inc. is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve safety and traffic operations by installing centerline rumble strips, replacing the bridge deck on the railroad bridge, new pavement markings, and updating guardrail end terminals.

During construction, WIS 33 will be closed and detoured utilizing WIS 16 and WIS 73.

Project completion is scheduled for early November. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
