Noise wall rehabilitation project to begin in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties

WisDOT is notifying motorists and residents about upcoming work to rehabilitate 13 noise walls in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties (12 in Milwaukee County, one in Waukesha County). The noise walls are located along various segments of I-41 and I-43.

Work is scheduled to begin on March 11, 2024. Zenith Tech, Inc. is the prime contractor of this $952,000 contract. Improvements will include:

  • Spot painting
  • Concrete surface repairs
  • Panel replacement
  • Post replacement
  • Replace support brackets​
  • Installation of steel angles

No new noise walls will be added, and no existing noise walls will be replaced as part of this project. Limited clearing and grubbing will be required to access select walls.

Traffic Impacts:

Possible traffic impacts include shoulder closures, overnight single-lane closures, and overnight ramp closures. Flagging operations on local streets may occasionally be required.

Access to residents, businesses and first responders will be maintained throughout construction.

Schedule:

Work is scheduled for completion in late summer 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
