Public input requested for WIS 136 retaining wall project in Sauk County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking a public input on improvements to the WIS 136, Baraboo River retaining wall in Sauk County. Construction is currently scheduled for 2028.

A presentation detailing the WIS 136 project is available to view on the project website at https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/projects/by-region/sw/wis136-retainingwall/default.aspx.

The project will replace the existing WIS 136/Baraboo River concrete barrier wall. Additionally, the storm sewer will be extended, and guard rail will be updated.

WIS 136 at the Baraboo River will be closed to through traffic and detoured for the duration of construction. All local residences and businesses will remain open to traffic.

All persons interested in the project are encouraged to view the website and provide input by contacting project staff via email, postal mail, or phone. Your comments will assist WisDOT in developing a project that will serve the needs of the traveling public and community. Your input is welcome and appreciated throughout the design process.
