Governor Evers approves I-94 westbound bridge improvements, Jefferson County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $5.7 million contract to reconstruct I-94 westbound bridges at Newville Road and Rock Lake Road in Lake Mills, Jefferson County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin March 11, 2024.

Sheet Piling Service, LLC is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to replace the I-94 westbound bridges at Newville Road and Rock Lake Road. Additional improvements include updates to bridge approaches, guardrail, pavement makings, and permanent signing.

During construction, I-94 will remain open to traffic under lane closures during off-peak hours. Newville Road and Rock Lake Road will be closed to through traffic, access will remain for emergency vehicles.

Project completion is scheduled for fall 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
