Resurfacing work on US 18 (W. Bluemound Road) to resume in Waukesha County

Release date: March 21, 2024

Beginning March 25, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will resume resurfacing work along US 18 (W. Bluemound Road) in Waukesha County, between I-94 and the Waukesha/Milwaukee County line.

What to expect:

Stage 1: Completed in 2023

  • Resurfaced US 18 between Westmoor Road and Waukesha/Milwaukee County Line.

Stage 2: Late March – fall 2024

  • Resurface US 18 between Westmoor Road and I-94
  • Improve existing traffic signals.​
  • Replace pedestrian accommodations.

Traffic Impacts

  • At least two lanes in each direction will be maintained during the day.
    • May be reduced to one lane in each direction during overnight hours.
  • Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.

Stark Pavement Corporation is the prime contractor for this $15.6 million project. Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
