Public input requested for WIS 39, Mineral Point to Hollandale, in Iowa County

Release date: April 3, 2024

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on improvements along WIS 39, from WIS 23 in Mineral Point to the west Hollandale village limits, in Iowa County. Construction is currently scheduled for 2031.

A presentation and materials detailing the WIS 39 proposed work are available to view on the project website at Wisconsin Department of Transportation WIS 39 (WIS 23 to Hollandale village limits) - Iowa County (wisconsindot.gov).

The project will resurface WIS 39 between WIS 23 in Mineral Point and Hollandale village limits. Additionally, a high friction surface treatment will be applied to the reverse curve segment east of County D to improve safety, pavement markings will be updated, and guardrail will be replaced throughout the project.

WIS 39 will remain open to traffic while being constructed under flagging operations. All local residences and businesses will remain open to traffic.

All persons interested in the project are encouraged to view the website and provide input by contacting project staff via email, postal mail, or phone. Your comments will assist WisDOT in developing a project that will serve the needs of the traveling public and community. Your input is welcome and appreciated throughout the design process. Questions and comments can be directed to WisDOT Project Manager Stefan Ciobanu at stefan.ciobanu@dot.wi.gov, (608) 516-6832, or mailed to the WisDOT Southwest Region, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI 53704.
