Governor Evers approves WIS 108 improvements, La Crosse County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $3.6 million contract to improve WIS 108, Old 16 Road to Stand Olson Road and L Pfaff Road to R Young Road, north of West Salem in La Crosse. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin April 8.

Mathy Construction company is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve pavement conditions, ride quality, and safety. Improvements include resurfacing the roadway, replacement of 7 culverts, seal coat placement on 1.34 miles of roadway, and replacement of guardrail.

April 8 to May 3, WIS 108 will be closed and detoured to through traffic utilizing WIS 16, WIS 162, and WIS 71. The remainder of construction will take place under flagging operations.

Project completion is scheduled for late July. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
