Governor Evers approves WIS 89 improvements, Waterloo to Columbus

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $2.7 million contract to resurface WIS 89 between Clarkson Road in Waterloo and Avalon Road in Columbus, Columbia, Dane, and Dodge counties. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin April 8.

Payne and Dolan, Inc. is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to replace the current pavement, replace several culvert pipes, and reconstruct the County TV intersection.

WIS 89 will be closed at Mud Creek for box culvert work and WIS 89/County TV intersection reconstruction, detour utilizes WIS 19 and WIS 73. Remaining construction will take place under lane closures with flagging operations.

Project completion is scheduled for late June 2024. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
