Governor Evers approves WIS 77 improvements in Iron County

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $4 million contract to improve WIS 77 from the Ashland County Line to Upson Lake Road in Iron County. Work is scheduled to begin Aug. 14, 2023.

Northwoods Paving is the prime contractor for the project. Work will consist of the resurfacing of WIS 77 with new asphalt, replacing and repairing culverts, placing new shoulders and placing new pavement markings.

During construction, WIS 77 will remain open to through traffic, but some delays can be expected. Work will be done utilizing daytime flagging operations.

Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2023. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
