Pavement repair to close lanes, rest area entrance on I-94 overnight

Work to be completed on eastbound interstate lanes in Menomonie

Release date: July 21, 2023

Maintenance crews from the Dunn County Highway Department will be repairing a pavement buckle on eastbound I-94 between the rest area and the exit to WIS 25 (exit 41), resulting in overnight lane closures Sunday, July 23 and Monday, July 24.

Repairs to the left, or passing, lane will be completed Sunday night, and repairs to the right, or driving, lane will be done Monday night.

The work will result in the closure of the left lane Sunday night and the right lane Monday night. In addition, the entrance ramp to the Menomonie rest area on eastbound I-94 will be closed Monday night. The closure of the entrance ramp won't prevent any motorist already at the rest area from exiting back onto I-94.

Work will begin at 6 p.m. both nights, and lanes will be opened by 7 a.m. the following morning. The entrance ramp to the rest area on eastbound I-94 also will be open by 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 25.

The rest area along westbound I-94 in Menomonie will remain open.
