Two new special license plates will be available in the near future for Wisconsin motorist. Once the new plates are ready for issuance, WisDOT will collect an annual $25 donation to benefit the groups (see below) when plates are issued or renewed. This is in addition to the regular registration fees paid for automobiles, light trucks up to 8,000 lbs., farm trucks up to 12,000 lbs. and motor homes. Personalized plates are available for an additional $15 every year. A $15 issuance fee is collected when non-personalized plates are issued.
- "Children's Hospital of Wisconsin" license plates will feature their blue children silhouette logo. The donations collected will go to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation and will fund child-life programs not covered by insurance, needed supplies and equipment to advance ground breaking research, and support the latest medical equipment and tools specific for children.
- “Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin” license plates will feature our state’s fish, the Muskellunge (Musky). The donations collected will go to the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin. The alliance is made up of about 25 Wisconsin based Musky Clubs that have joined together in efforts of working together to share information and improve the musky fishery in our state.
