WIS 59 Rehabilitation (Whitehall St to Brookfield Rd) - Waukesha County

Project Location

The project is approximately 2.5 miles in length from Whitehall Street to Brookfield Road.

Overview

The purpose of this project is to preserve and improve pavement condition, traffic operations and safety of the WIS 59 corridor. Proposed project improvements include:

  • Asphalt pavement mill and overlay of the project corridor with concrete pavement replacement at WIS 59 and Barker Road intersection
  • Installation of new traffic signals at WIS 59 and Barker Road intersection
  • Crosswalk and pedestrian ramp improvements along the project corridor
  • Guardrail replacement
  • Drainage structures maintenance and/or repair

Schedule

Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2027.

Traffic Impacts

Long-term lane closures and potential detours will be necessary to complete the proposed project. Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained through construction.

Public Involvement

A public involvement meeting will be held on May 22 from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at Brookfield Town Hall (645 N. Janacek Road, Brookfield, WI 53045). The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format allowing the public to stop in at their convenience to learn about project updates and share their input.
