I-39 (Lien Road to US 51), Madison - Dane County

Project overview

The purpose of this project is to maintain connectivity along I-39 by addressing the existing roadway pavement condition. WisDOT is proposing to resurface 5.5 miles of I-39 between Lien Road and US 51. Additional improvements include:

• Replacement of beam guard
• New pavement markings
• Curb ramp work at High Crossing Boulevard
• Interchange ramp work

Traffic impacts/detours

I-39 will remain open to traffic with nighttime lane closures. Individual ramps may be closed and detoured nightly for ramp work and I-39 outer lane work.
