US 14 (WIS 162 to Church Street), Village of Coon Valley - Vernon County
Project overview
The existing roadway surface is aged and deteriorated and in need of repair. The proposed project would consist of a 5.5-inch mill, with a 6-inch overlay in the rural section of the project and a full pavement replacement, with subgrade improvements, in the urban section. Within the urban section in the Village of Coon Valley, curb ramps would be updated to meet current ADA standards. The Village will also take the opportunity to update the sewer and water facilities as needed.
Various repairs are proposed to take place on US 14 bridge over Coon Creek including replacing the polymer overlay, updating guardrail and replacing the sloped parapet. Scour mitigation is also proposed to take place at a box culvert by placing riprap around the wing walls.

Traffic impacts/detours
The rural section of the proposed project will be constructed under flagging, and open to traffic. The urban section would be closed to thru traffic and require a detour route be in place during construction. The proposed detour route follows WIS 162 North to WIS 33 to WIS 27 back to US 14.
