WIS 133 (Forest Lane to Furnace Branch Bridge), Village of Cassville - Grant County
Project overview
The riding surface between the curb and gutter of WIS 133 is aged and deteriorated with rutting causing a poor ride and increased maintenance needs. In addition to the pavement needs, there are several sidewalk ramps that do not meet ADA standards and are inadequately accessible. The storm sewer system was televised by the Village of Cassville and found that spot storm sewer pipes and structures are deteriorated and in need of repair or replacement. Bridge B-22-853 also has spot locations of minor spalling that have been indicated on WisDOT Maintenance inspections.
Proposed improvements include:
- Replace WIS 133 pavement and subgrade along the edge of the travel way. The proposed pavement structure would consist of 4-inches of hot mix asphalt, over 10 inches of gravel, over 16 inches of larger coarser stone.
- Spot locations of curb and gutter and storm sewer pipe and inlets would also be replaced.
- The horizontal and vertical geometry of WIS 133 would remain the same.
- Sidewalk pedestrian ramps would be improved to meet ADA to the maximum extent feasible, which may involve moving inlets and fire hydrants.
- Some temporary limited easements and permanent FEE are necessary to upgrade the sidewalk ramps.
- Structure B-22-853 would have minor concrete repairs completed.
- The Village may choose to replace water main, and sanitary, facilities the year prior and early Spring 2028 with a separate project
