Each intersection in Wisconsin is unique and has its own place as part of the transportation system. WisDOT engineers evaluate many factors when determining the appropriate traffic control at an intersection, including safety, operations, and user needs, among others. The solutions can range from low-cost improvements to alternative intersection designs that improve safety by reducing or eliminating areas of conflict between roadway users.
