WIS 28 bridge over East Branch of the Rock River, Mayville - Dodge County
Project overview
The concrete deck on the bridge has a large spall with exposed rebar. The steel girders supporting the bridge have moderate rust. The paint is failing at areas of corrosion. Corrective action is needed to address the large spall in the existing bridge deck, remove the existing rust, and to fix the failing paint in the areas of corrosion. Additional improvements Include:
- The concrete bridge deck will be replaced.
- The steel girders will be painted.
- The concrete approach slabs leading to the bridge deck will be replaced.
- The concrete abutment surfaces will be repaired.
- Additional riprap will be placed at the abutment slopes.
- The sidewalk width on the bridge will increase from 5’ wide to 6’ wide

Traffic impacts/detours
WIS 28 will be closed and detoured utilizing WIS 67, WIS 33, I-41, and WIS 28.
