WIS 76 - Outagamie County

WisDOT is developing plans for proposed improvements on 5.73 miles of WIS 76 in Outagamie County. The purpose of this webpage is to provide information regarding the proposed improvements, describe the potential impacts it would have on the community, and offer an opportunity for public comment.

Project location

Project ID 6517-17-00 consists of two segments on WIS 76 from WIS 15 in the town of Greenville to the S Junction of County S in the town of Ellington.

  • The first segment is 0.56 miles between WIS 15 and Everglade Drive.
  • The second segment is 5.17 miles from just north of County JJ/Broadway Drive to the South Junction of County S.

Project purpose and need

This pavement resurfacing project is located on WIS 76 in the village of Greenville and the town of Ellington in Outagamie County. The existing pavement is showing signs of distress within the project limits. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the existing pavement, provide an improved all-weather surface, and increase the ride quality for the traveling public on WIS 76. This improvement project will improve the existing pavement surface and provide a safer and more efficient highway system for the traveling public.

Anticipated benefits

Provide motorists with a smoother riding surface resulting in less wear on vehicles, extend the life of pavement, improve safety for drivers/pedestrians with wider paved shoulders and rumble strips in 55 mph zone, and decrease maintenance costs saving taxpayer dollars in the future.

Proposed improvements

This is a resurfacing-level project. Proposed improvements include:

Traffic impacts

Traffic will be detoured for the culvert replacements between Broadway Dr/County JJ to County S. The rest of the project will be completed under flagging operations with single-lane closures.
