The Equity and Inclusion Committee, comprised of employees from across the department, examined our current efforts related to agency culture, recruitment and retention has developed an action plan that identifies goals and deliverables.

Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) Program
WisDOT has resources and workshops available to promote the participation of firms owned by disadvantaged individuals in all federal aid and state transportation facility contracts. Through the Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, WisDOT also recognizes the outstanding achievements of participants through the Secretary’s Golden Shovel Awards program.
Affirmative Action Advisory Committee (AAAC)
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Affirmative Action Advisory Committee (AAAC) is a committee appointed through Wis. Stat. § 230.06(1)(j) to advise the Office of the Secretary concerning programs designed to ensure equal opportunity to all employees, applicants for employment and customers of the department. The AAAC works to provide insightful recommendations to the Secretary’s Office and represent with integrity the great employees of the Department of Transportation.
