Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works are proposing to replace the pavement on approximately 0.75 miles of WIS 175 in the city of Milwaukee. The purpose of this project is to improve pavement condition and ride quality, assess multimodal accommodations, update traffic signal equipment, and address safety concerns along the corridor. Proposed improvements include:
- Full depth pavement replacement
- Replace sidewalk and ADA curb ramps
- Replace signal poles/equipment
- Replace intersection and corridor lighting
- Evaluate storm sewer condition
- Evaluate inclusion of bike accommodations
Traffic Impacts
Traffic impacts are still being evaluated. Access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
Schedule
Construction is tentatively scheduled for spring of 2031.
Public Involvement
WisDOT will hold an open-house public involvement meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 at the Laborers Union AFL-CIO Building (6310 W Appleton Avenue) in Milwaukee from 4 to 6 p.m. for the public to learn more about the proposed improvements, get questions answered, and provide input to the project team. Meeting materials will be posted to the website after the meeting.
