WIS 33 (WIS 22 to .19 miles west of Morris Drive), Marcellon to Cambria - Columbia County
Project overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is finalizing plans for a pavement replacement project on WIS 33 in Columbia County. The 9.5-mile project is located between the WIS 22 intersection and the Morris Drive intersection in the Towns of Marcellon, Scott and Randolph.
Planned improvements:
- 4-inch Cold-In-Place (CIR) recycled asphaltic pavement layer
- 4-inch Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) surface layer
- 5-foot paved shoulders
- Complete surface repair and guard rail replacements for the bridge near Marcellon (WIS 33 over Fox River; 1.9 miles east of WIS 22)
- Replacement of existing guard rail and end terminals to meet current design standards
- Replacement of advanced warning rumble strips at the WIS 22 / WIS 33 intersection
- Replacement of existing pavement markings
Schedule
- Summer/Fall 2021 - Construction anticipated
Traffic impacts/detours
WIS 33 will be closed and detoured to through traffic during construction. Access for residents, businesses, and emergency services will be maintained at all times.
