WisDOT seeking input on WIS 37 pavement project

Work includes installing new storm sewer, widening shoulders, installing shoulder rumble strips, replacing guardrail

Release date: January 22, 2026

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to share details about a pavement replacement project on WIS 37 from WIS 88 in the town of Mondovi to US 10 in the city of Mondovi and obtain public input.

  • When: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29
    • A short presentation is planned just after 5 p.m.
  • Where: Marten Community Center, 120 S. Franklin St.,  Mondovi, WI 54755

The pavement is deteriorated and nearing the end of its service, and this stretch of WIS 37 has a pattern of run-off-the-road crashes. To address these issues and others, WisDOT is proposing:

  • Replacing the existing asphalt with concrete pavement
  • Installing new storm sewer
  • Widening the shoulders
  • Installing shoulder rumble strips
  • Extending four box culverts and replacing one box culvert
  • Replacing guardrail, sidewalk, curb and gutter
  • Cleaning and performing maintenance on culverts

In addition, the city plans to install new water main, sanitary sewer and lighting.

During construction, WIS 37 will be closed to through traffic and detoured via WIS 88, WIS 121, WIS 93 and US 10, but access to residences and businesses will be maintained.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.

More information about the project can be found on the project’s website, including a comment form. Comments on the project are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 13.
