WisDOT seeking public input on Chippewa River Bridge project

Proposed work includes replacing and widening deck on County H structure

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is sharing details on a proposed maintenance project on the bridge carrying County H over the Chippewa River in the Dunn County towns of Rock Creek and Spring Brook and seeking public input.

The public is invited to go to the project website, review information about the proposed work and submit comments by March 19, 2026, by:

Built in 1964, the bridge is need of maintenance to extend its service life. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:

  • Replacing and widening the concrete bridge deck
  • Reinforcing the existing girders for a larger deck width
  • Completing spot painting of the existing girders
  • Replacing deck drains
  • Replacing and extending guardrail

During construction, the bridge will be closed, and traffic will be detoured.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.
