Construction on three I-90 bridges in La Crosse to begin April 1

Release date: March 27, 2026

Work to rehabilitate the three I-90 bridges over Round Lake, Black River and Bainbridge pedestrian bridge over I-90 in La Crosse, La Crosse County. This project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Other improvements include bridge deck repairs along the I-90 bridges over Round Lake and Black River and replacement of the Bainbridge pedestrian bridge.

Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures along I-90. The Bainbridge pedestrian bridge will be closed.

Construction is currently scheduled for completion in August 31, 2026. The construction schedule is based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
