Governor Evers approves pavement marking project in 16 counties

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $2.08 million contract with prime contractor Century Traffic of Pewaukee for pavement marking in 16 counties in WisDOT’s Northwest Region. Construction is scheduled to start Tuesday, April 14.

This Wisconsin Department of Transportation project will replace epoxy pavement markings on the following highways in the Northwest Region:

• Barron County: WIS 48, WIS 25 to 19th Street roundabout (Rice Lake); and US 8, County P to North Wye Street (Barron)
• Bayfield County: US 2, County A South (Iron River) to US 63
• Buffalo County: WIS 37, County F to WIS 88; and US 10 to Eau Claire County line
• Clark County: WIS 73, Meridian Avenue (southeast of Neillsville) to WIS 95
• Douglas County: US 53, South of Kent Road/County E to US 2 East.
• Dunn County: I-94, St. Croix County line to mile marker 41 (Menomonie area).
• Eau Claire County: WIS 37, Buffalo County line to WIS 85; US 12, Otter Road to Industrial Drive (Altoona), and Fall Creek Bridge deck to East Street (Augusta); US 53 ramps at US 12, WIS 93 and Hastings Way interchanges; and I-94, Mallard Road to west of County NN
• Jackson County: WIS 54, Trempealeau County line to WIS 71/108 (Melrose), WIS 71/108 (Melrose) to South 11th Street (Black River Falls) and McDonald Road (Black River Falls) to Oasis Road; WIS 95, west side of I-94 to Railroad Road (Merrillan); WIS 108, Monroe County line to WIS 70; and I-94, west side of WIS 95 to east side of Black River Bridge, and Black River Bridge to mile marker 121
• Pepin County: WIS 35, Buffalo County line to Stockholm
• Pierce County: WIS 29, WIS 35/65 to US 63 North
• Polk County: WIS 35, State Street to 1st Street (Dresser); and US 63, County J to US 8
• Polk and Burnett counties: WIS 35, Polk Street (Frederic) to Lanquist Street (Siren) 
• St. Croix County: WIS 35, Front Street (Hudson) to North End Road, and North WIS 65 to I-94; WIS 65, Airport Road to Jewell Street (Star Prairie); US 12, Ross Road (East of Hudson) to WIS 65, and WIS 65 to US 63; and I-94, construction joint east of WIS 65 to Dunn County line
• St. Croix and Dunn counties: US 12, WIS 128 to construction joint on North Oak Avenue under I-94 (Menomonie)
• Taylor County: WIS 13, WIS 64 to Medford city limits, and WIS 102 to Price County line; and WIS 64, County B (Gilman) to WIS 73 South
• Trempealeau County: US 53, Richter Road (Whitehall) to eastbound WIS 121 (Pigeon Falls)
• Washburn County: US 53, mile marker 153; and US 63, Barron County line to County B East/Smith Road

The work will result in lane closures, and in some areas, the marking will be done at night. Construction is scheduled for completion in early August.
