To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $2,040,714 contract to reconstruct WIS 23 from Pine Street to Rowe Road and the US 18 and Johns Street intersection in Dodgeville, Iowa County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin April 20.
Zignego Company is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve safety along WIS 23 from Pine Street to Rowe Road and the US 18 and Johns Street intersection. WIS 23 lanes will be reconfigured to a three-lane two way left turn lane configuration. Learn more on this project: https://projects.511wi.gov/us18wis23-iowacounty/
During construction, WIS 23 and US 18 will have lane closures.
Project completion is scheduled for early August 2026. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
