Public meeting scheduled for WIS 154 and WIS 136 in Sauk County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements along two roadways, on WIS 154 from Rock Springs W Village limits to WIS 136 and WIS 136 from Narrows Creek bridge to Belter Drive in Rock Springs, Sauk County.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Village of Rock Springs Community Center, 251 Railroad Street, Rock Springs. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

WisDOT is proposing two pavement improvement projects in Rock Springs. Proposed improvements along WIS 154 between Rock Springs W Village limits and WIS 136:
  • Pavement replacement
  • New storm sewer and culverts
  • Updated curb and gutter
Proposed improvements along WIS 136 between Narrows Creek bridge and Belter Drive:
  • Mill and replace the pavement
  • Add a polymer overlay to Narrows Creek bridge
  • Replace approaches at the railroad crossing in Rock Springs
