Governor Evers approves US 45 resurfacing project in Racine County

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has approved a $1.53 million resurfacing and improvement project along US 45 (124th Street/Raynor Avenue), between WIS 20 and County K in Racine County. Payne and Dolan is the prime contractor for the project. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 8.

Improvements include:

  • Resurface US 45 within project limits
  • Base patching and joint crack repair
  • Storm sewer installation near US 45/County K intersection
  • Retaining wall removal and regarding

Traffic Impacts:

US 45 will be closed to through traffic during construction. The posted detour will utilize WIS 20 and WIS 36 to get around the work zone. Local access will be maintained.

Work is scheduled for completion by late summer 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
